missed me missed me now you’ve got to kiss me

I have consumed much tea on this trip. Not intentionally, really, just because I’ve been hanging out in cafes and coffee makes me jittery. I love hanging out in cafes. Tonight we went to Trident with Hannah’s friend Nutty. We ran into a friend of Nutty’s and just sat and drank coffee/tea/wine/foamy milky things… my [...]

Days are cold and grey, it’s hard to be away

I heard Keith Ellison speak yesterday. What a guy. I’m feeling painfully inarticulate right now but, wow, he really impressed me. His easy manner and genuine interest in his audience… I think he’s fantastic.
Here’s my gift for you today. And since you’ve all been so good, here’s a bonus.

da da doo dum

Slept. That’s about the most productive thing I did today. It’s a hard time of year for a lot of people, myself included. I’m tired and unmotivated. My week from here on out is probably going to be a little bit busy and a little bit uninteresting, at least until Friday when I go to [...]

My finger is so healed and the stitches are STILL IN. I’m getting them out tomorrow but jeez, I could practically cut ‘em out my own self at this point. I don’t really even need a Band Aid but people get grossed out by stitches so I hafta cover them up.
Weekends are short. Mine wasn’t [...]

Thing One and Thing Two

You can’t sneeze with your eyes open. It’s physically impossible. I haven’t actually tried, though…
I’ve been having awful nightmares about Gateway tech support. I call them almost ever day for Augsburg computers. It’s easy to do because all our machines are fully covered for any kind of error or damage. Still, I have to call [...]

a little bit o’ twang

What have you overheard in Minneapolis? Or Chicago? Or New York? Or Boston?
I had a fantastic weekend. Low key to the extreme. On Friday I joined Jan and some friends to a small festival in the West Bank Arts Quarter. There were some really cool performance art pieces, including a dance in Velcro suits that [...]

Ouch.

I hurt my finger. You see, I was installing a disk drive in a Gateway desktop when an errant piece of metal attacked me. Yesterday looked something like this: wake up (yawn), class (late, as usual), worky worky worky, OW! OWOWOW!, emergency room visit, 1 tetanus vaccination, 4 novacain shots, 4 stitches, meeting, home.
This has not [...]

Week in review

For those of you reading this on Facebook the lost phone story will be old news. Last week kind of sucked. I lost my phone and my iPod on Wednesday. I ended up finding my iPod (someone picked it up from the classroom I left it in) but my phone went the way of the [...]
