Big happenings? Maybe.

This is bound to be an exciting weekend. I’m opening Home at the Pillsbury House Theatre in Minneapolis tonight. It’s a great show that I’m super jazzed about working on. Between that and Menopause the Musical, I’ve almost worked 40 hours this week. This unfortunately means that I haven’t done some other stuff that needs doing – like finishing moving in, looking for a day job, or returning my cable modem.

In addition to some theater fun, I’m also going to spend some of this weekend with my awesome friends. Chelsie and Lara are coming up to the cities for the weekend and the Eau Claire folk are gonna roll in, too. I can’t wait to see them all. I’ve lately convinced myself that I don’t have any friends because they all move away and leave me and I’m all alone and have no one to talk to – at this point in the thought process I always stop myself and give myself an exasperated look and tell myself that I’m crazy and of course I have plenty of friends and I’m only feeling this way because I’m melodramatic and not trying hard enough. Anyhow, this weekend I won’t have to try and I won’t have to be melodramatic cuz old friends will be around. And then next week Amanda will come home for a little while.

The only real disappointment of late is that I didn’t get a particular job I’ve been gunning for. I’d be great at it and I’d love it, but they passed me over for an old friend. I get that, Lord knows I’ve been on the other end of such a situation plenty of times. Still, it’s disappointing and I’ll have to find something else to fill my winter. Hey, if anyone out there needs a theater professional for anything, give me a jingle. I’m good at what I do.

So I moved. No longer in Uptown, I’ve relocated a few blocks south into King Field. It’s sweet at the moment, because Pillsbury House is so close.

For the first time in a year my clothes are mostly put away. I never really unpacked in my former apartment and my clothes were organized in piles on the floor the entire time I lived there. When I moved here one of the first orders of business was closet organization and hanger utilization. I can’t tell you how much it cuts down on stress to have a well-organized living space.

The other thing eating of my time is the wonder that is television on the internet. Did you know that the major broadcast networks put new episodes of hit shows on their websites? It’s awesome. I miss my shows (which include Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, Private Practice, and Ugly Betty) most of the time because, honestly, I’m not so obsessed that I’ll stay home with my tv in favor of seeing friends. No more monkeying around with a VCR, though, because I can just watch them the next day. With fewer commercials. Did I mention the awesome factor? I thought so.

Alright, I’ve got some cardboard boxes to break down.
