My Bed

In the absence of another person in my first-ever queen-size bed, I have taken to sleeping with the following:

  • My computer
  • My computer’s external hard drive

(Both of these in case I wake up in the night and desperately need to watch Scrubs/chick flick/laughing babies)

  • All of the pillows I own
  • The clothes I wore yesterday/the clothes I put on and decided not to wear yesterday
  • Several books, all of which I’m trying to read and none of which I can manage to pay attention to for more than half an hour
  • A towel
  • The instruction booklet to the aforementioned external hard drive

and

  • A bottle of gin, lamentably warm

I am so not cut out for this shit.

I get it now! I love the world, too!

I saw this a few days ago…

I Love The Whole World!

And this tonight.

I get it now!

Sunday in Minneapolis with Caitlin

It’s been a lovely day.

Saw the Twins win. That’s 11 out of 12 now and maintains their decent win percentage. Let’s hope the Sox (White, not Red) lose tonight. Spent the rest of the afternoon on the porch with Primo and American Spirits. I bought a pack of cigarettes today, my first since December. I’m going to try to make it the only one of the summer. I’m tempted to belittle my will power at this point, but I’ll stay positive and hope that last sentence works out for me.

It’s a beautiful day, perfect for porch sitting. I have to own up to the fact that I’d have been inside had my external hard drive not crashed. Luckily for me it did so I couldn’t watch the movies I’d planned to watch today. Played twenty questions with my roommates instead. All good things.

I’ve been schedule-less for two weeks now and have been bitching about it the whole time. Now I’ve got a week of things to do and I’m regretting all the whining. Time off is a blessing that I so rarely recognize.

I’m trying to compile a list of all the shows I’ve seen this year. I’m thinking joining the ranks of Minneapolitans who write about theater. It would be a good method of keeping track of my activity in the community, at least.

In an effort to keep a recent resolution: I will go to trivia at the Tower on Tuesday.

Mid Year Resolution #1

Do things that I say I’ll do. Don’t say that I’ll do things I know I won’t do.

A sad day for Twin Cities theater

Theatre de la Jeune Lune is closing it’s doors. Thanks for everything you’ve given us.

Drank beer outside in the sun.

Indulged in some much needed venting.

Watched several episodes of The L Word.

Read some In Cold Blood.

Channel surfed.

Happy Solstice.

Super Tuesday

After a long break from blogging, I’m back to tell all you Minnesotans (and anyone from Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, or West Virginia) to go and caucus or vote on this lovely first Tuesday in February.

If you’re in Minnesota you can use this handy tool provided by those lovely people in the Secretary of State’s office to find your caucus location.

Happy Super Tuesday!

Sick day

Nothing worse on a sick day than for EVERYTHING INTERESTING TO BREAK. Well, probably not actually everything, but enough things. First broken thing: the internet. It’s still functional (obviously) but it’s unbelievably slow. Too slow to do things like, say, watch the season finale of Next Top Model at cwtv.com. Argh. I thought that instead I might just watch Running With Scissors which I have from Netflix at the moment. But the disk is all scratched or something and keeps sending my dvd app into fatal error mode. And my taste buds are broken, too, making everything taste oddly like plain yogurt. I hate plain yogurt. Blah. Stupid sick day.

Facebook

So my boyfriend just joined facebook and I was confronted with the declare-relationship-or-not issue. I decided to go for it at least partly because it will prevent me from pretending that I’m single which I am wont to do and which never works out well. Anyway, then I found this:

So, still in a relationship on Facebook. Still horrified by the realities of the fact that such a thing is even possible. Doublethink? Maybe…
